Commitment
SENScribe is committed to minimising our environmental impact and supporting sustainable procurement in the Irish public sector. This statement was prepared on 18 August 2026.
Cloud hosting
SENScribe is hosted on Microsoft Azure. We selected Azure in part because of Microsoft's public environmental commitments. Microsoft reports that it:
- Matches 100% of its annual electricity consumption with renewable energy purchases
- Is committed to becoming carbon negative by 2030
- Achieves a 92% reuse and recycling rate for cloud servers and components
For full details, see Microsoft's sustainability reporting.
We do not independently verify Microsoft's environmental claims and present them here as reported by Microsoft.
Product impact
SENScribe is a software-as-a-service product that replaces paper-based student support planning workflows. The service:
- Eliminates the need for printed Student Support File templates, reducing paper consumption for schools
- Requires no dedicated hardware - teachers use their existing devices and browsers
- Does not ship any physical products or materials
- Is built and maintained by a remote-first team, reducing commuting-related emissions
Procurement readiness
We respond to Green Public Procurement criteria per the EPA's GPP Criteria for ICT Products and Services (2024) and the EU GPP criteria for data centres and cloud services. An environmental statement is available on request by contacting hello@senscribe.ie.
Our honest position
SENScribe is a micro-company. We measure what is feasible at our scale and avoid making unverifiable net-zero or carbon-neutral claims. We report the environmental commitments of our infrastructure providers where relevant, clearly attributed. As the company grows, we will expand our environmental reporting and adopt additional measurable targets.
